 You can't really have a website without a domain name. The domain name of a site is the name within the "www" and the ".com". Of course, you need the "www" and the ".com" as well.

 I remember when buying domain names was an expensive ordeal. You usually had one, maybe two for your website, or websites. Fortunately, today that has drastically changed.  One of my websites is educational. I soon found out that getting domain names isn't so much the cost, but the different types of domain extensions. The extension you put on your domain can mean a lot as to whether or not you receive a lot of traffic. Commercial sites use mostly .com, but can use .net. Organizations use .org, while there are also country specific domain endings like .ca, and .uk. Mine is .edu because it teaches a specific subject.

 During my search for the right domain names I found out I could buy expired domain names as well. I recently did buy two expired domain names because they were so creative.
